The Annunciation

In Religious Education we have been learning about Mary. We read the story of the Annunciation fromLuke:1 in the Bible and acted out the parts with a partner. When we looked at paintings of the Annunciation over hundreds of years, we found that there were some elements that were in most of the paintings, including Mary, the Angel Gabriel, the Dove who represents the Holy Spirit, a prayer book and white lilies for purity. We drew pictures of the Annunciation and included all these elements. Can you find them in our pictures?

A Memory Game

Room 2 learnt a poem called Kim's Game. The poem tells you to lift the cover on the tray for 3 seconds then try to remember and name all the 6 objects you can see. At the end of the week we made our own tray and found magazine pictures for the six objects. When we had finished we played our own memory games with each other.

Algebra Snakes

In Room 2 we have been learning to make a pattern, repeat a pattern, display a pattern and talk about a pattern. We chose 2 colours of multi link cubes and made a pattern. Next we repeated the pattern. We used our patterns to make a snake. Now when we look at the snakes we can talk about the patterns we can see.

Cherry Blossom Cup Cakes

Just as the month of September comes to an end, the cherry tree that we look at from our classroom back door has finally come into blossom. It reminds us once more of the wonder of creation and the beauty of the season of spring. As an end of term celebration we decorated cup cakes with cherry blossom designs.  It was lots of fun and they tasted delicious.
