Hubble Telescope Artwork and Rocket Making

As part of learning about Space we looked at power points and books with photos taken by the Hubble telescope. The beautiful coloured galaxies of stars and nebular dust patterns inspired us to use pastels, paints and glitter to recreate the images we saw. Please come and look at our artworks in Room 2.

We are so lucky to have the Hubble telescope to get a close up view of the amazing colours and forms of creation in space.

On Friday some children in Room 2 decided to finish their bottle rockets. They did a wonderful job and wanted to share what they made with you. Well done to the Rocket Club!

Scooter Safety with Police Officer Jude

In Week 6 we did scooter safety with Police Officer Jude. On Tuesday she came to talk to R1 & 2 about scooter safety. On Wednesday we brought our scooters and helmets to school and took them up to the courts. We had a scooter course set up to ride our scooters around. When we got to the pedestrian crossing we had to stop, look both ways and if no cars were coming, walk across pushing our scooters.
Everyone needed to use their eyes and ears to get around the course safely.

'Thank you for helping us to be safe on our scooters, Officer Jude.'

The Cross Country Race

In week 5 we had the cross country races. Rooms 1 & 2 practised every day for two weeks before the race to get used to running that far. On the day of the race everyone ran really well and we all finished the race. Well done to the winners of the 5 year old boys and girls races. 'Thank you God for giving us the resilience to keep going even if we are tired.'
