Spring Celebration

In the last week of term 3 we welcomed  the arrival of spring. We looked at all the blossom in the gardens and on the screen. We read poems about daffodils and what happens in spring. We also decorated pink cupcakes with little marshmallows to celebrate the start of the new season.

Maori Language Week

In week 8 of Term 3 it was Maori Language week. We celebrated by using Maori language and music in the classroom and reading Maori legends and stories. We created taniwha art works and wrote descriptions of the Marakihau- sea dragon. Last Friday we visited the UNITEC Marae and enjoyed their hospitality. It was a great day!

Technology - Bird Feeders

This term we designed bird feeders to feed the hungry birds in winter. We looked at different kinds of birds and found that some eat worms, insects and seeds. Others feed on nectar collected from flowers. Next we collected junk to make a bird feeder.
