Shrove Tuesday - Pancake Day
Room 1 & 2 observed Pancake Day by making pancakes. We found out that long ago people used to use up their butter, eggs and sugar on Shrove Tuesday, the day before Lent begins. We had to read the recipe and follow the instructions to make the pancakes. Everyone had a turn of mixing the batter and flipping a pancake. We ate them with butter and maple syrup. They were delicious!

Luke came home from school very excited to tell me he made pancakes in class today. It is great to see what the kids are doing in class and this encourages Luke to want to cook also at home.
