Matariki
At Matariki we celebrated Maori New Year. We read lots of stories about the seven stars of Matarki and found out how people celebrate the festival each year. We decorated star biscuits, made kites and wrote stories about Matariki too.
Phonics Party
In the last week of T2 Room 1 & 2 had a party to celebrate what we had learnt in phonics. We looked at our alphabet rhyme cards and got the food to match the cards. We had a wonderful celebration!

Book Week in Room 2
Week 9 was Book Week at Good Shepherd. We shared our love of reading and listening to stories. We had visits from authors and illustrators and we even had a book fair in the library. In Room 2 we read the story of The Princess and the Pea and made an illustration to go with our writing. Some of us want to be illustrators and writers when we grow up. On Friday we all dressed up as book characters and had the Book Parade. After morning tea we got into our house groups and had a 'book' treasure hunt.
Book week was a lot of fun!
